12.0pt'>Zoom to dataExtent is one of my most common use cases. When the
developer determines the vector source, then s/he will also know where to
position the map/view. But if the user determines it ("that gpx file I
created this morning"), then the developer has no way of knowing. The same
applies in principle to projection - how should I know what projection their
data is in? In practice, I often do, as the "gpx file created this
morning" will be in 4326. As the comment in the wiki page says<font
color=red><span style='color:red'>, the projection should be in the data</span></font>;
the developer shouldn't have to specify this (and might not know).<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
